(The Star) First-come, first-served policy for PR1MA units

The Penang government will apply the first-come, first-served policy when it comes to applications for the Program Perumahan 1Malaysia (PR1MA) units.

State Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said they would go through the system to identify applicants.

“Priority will be given to those who have already registered for the PR1MA projects in Penang,” he said during a visit to Block 4B in Lorong Semarak Api 1 in Bandar Baru Ayer Itam recently.

He said that in Penang, 5,000 units of affordable housing under PR1MA were expected to be built in Batu Ferringhi, Bukit Gelugor and Permatang Pauh.

On another matter, Jagdeep announced that the state had approved RM22.4mil for 243 upgrading projects including RM190,000 for the upgrading of two lifts at Block 4B and 4E at Bandar Baru Ayer Itam.

Also present were Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh, Paya Terubong assemblyman Yeoh Soon Hin and Seri Delima assemblyman Syerleena Abdul Rashid.
