(NST) myBAS route extends to hospital, govt offices, colleges

SEREMBAN: The new routes of myBAS now link all important government offices, hospitals and education institutions, much to the relief of residents in Negeri Sembilan.

Now the people do not have to be worried about the extreme shortage of parking at Tuanku Jaafar Hospital as the place is covered by the bus service.

Civil servant, Mohd Fairuz Zaharuddin, 32, said he had to park his car far away whenever he visited the hospital.

“I choose to use the bus now as it stops right at the entrance. It has solved the issue of parking shortage and traffic congestion at the hospital,” he told Bernama here today.

The myBAS service was set up to connect the urban and rural areas more efficiently through a fixed schedule to enable the people to commute to work, school and various other locations.

A good public transportation such as myBAS has also help raised the productivity and the standard of living of the people.

A myBAS commuter, Ahmad Sufian Ghazali, 40, said myBAS has facilitated the people especially senior citizens in their visits to the general hospital.

“It was a pitiful sight to see old people walking up to the hospital building over the years. Now when the bus goes all the way to the hospital, I really share the joys of the commuters,” he said.

MyBAS, which is equipped with global positioning system (GPS), operates seven days a week from 6am to 9pm covering areas in Seremban, Nilai Sentral, Nilai 3, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), KLIA2, Bahau, Kuala Pilah, Batu Kikir, Tampin, Rembau, Port Dickson and Lukut.

In Seremban, myBAS plies areas such the Public Library, the Insolvency Department, Bank Rakyat, Seremban Health Office, Cosmo Point, Paediatric Clinic, Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council, Employees’ Provident Fund, Felda, Wisma Negeri, National Registration Department, State Education Department and Wisma Perkeso.
