(The Star) Giving businesses the incentive to grow

Mah Sing Group Bhd launched its business incentive grant programme for the group’s commercial products during the Malaysia International Retail and Franchise (MIRF) exhibition at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre.

The programme will provide eligible applicants with business grants should they purchase any one of Mah Sing’s six participating projects – Lifestyle Shops at Southville City, Retail Shops at D’sara Sentral, M Galleria Shops at M Residence, two-storey Shops at Lakeville Residence and Garden Boulevard Shops at Garden Residence in the Klang Valley as well as The Meridin Walk Lifestyle Mall at Medini in Iskandar Puteri Johor.

“MIRF exhibition is a great platform for us to reach out to franchise and retail owners and showcase our commercial products.

“The six projects under this programme are quality developments in strategic locations across Klang Valley and in Iskandar Puteri, Johor,” said Mah Sing group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum.

Present at the launch were Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, Mah Sing chief executive officer Datuk Ho Hon Sang, MIRF 2017 organising chairman Datuk Liew Bin, Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) president Datuk Garry Chua and MRCA past president Datuk Liaw Choon Liang.

“Retailers and franchise owners are a large customer base for Mah Sing as approximately 28% of our remaining gross development value and unbilled sales are commercial developments spread across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Baru and Kota Kinabalu,” said Leong.

“Our focus is to enhance the lives of our buyers, and this programme will help entrepreneurs, business owners and investors to own a quality commercial unit.

“Our Lifestyle Shops at Southville City was the pioneer project to give out business grants, but we have included five more developments and extended the validity period as we wanted to give our buyers more options.”

The business grants will only be given to approved applicants and Mah Sing will screen through the type of businesses operated in order to ensure it complements and adds value to the development.

“In addition, some of our developments such as M Galleria Shops at M Residence and Garden Boulevard Shops at Garden Residence are completed and ready for occupancy while our Lifestyle Shops at Southville City will be handing over vacant possession from September onwards.

“The retail components for D’sara Sentral and Lakeville Residence in the Klang Valley as well as Meridin Walk Lifestyle Mall at Medini in Iskandar Puteri Johor are all scheduled for completion in 2018,” added Leong.
