(The Edge Financial Daily) UDA to develop Angsana Johor Baru Mall 2

JOHOR BARU: UDA Holdings Bhd will develop the Angsana Johor Baru Mall 2 with an estimated gross development value of RM1.5 billion, said its managing director Datuk Ahmad Abu Bakar.

The project, currently in the final stage of having its design approved, is expected to be completed by 2021, he said.

“The 800,000-sq ft mall would be built on a 4.45ha site near the existing Angsana Johor Baru Mall. We will connect both buildings with a bridge besides landscaping the mall to provide convenience for visitors.

“The mall will be bigger than the existing one, and retail shops will carry many international brands to complement the Angsana Mall. It will attract more Singaporeans and locals will be spoilt for choice with the varying merchandise.

“We will also develop the Tampoi City Centre on the remaining 13.13ha [of land], which would include a business complex, convention hall, hotel, luxury condominiums and low-cost apartments near Angsana 2,” he told reporters at UDA Angsana Sdn Bhd’s Hari Raya open house here yesterday.

Th e upgrading work for the existing Angsana Johor Baru Mall began way back in 2011, and some RM10 million has been spent so far to install facilities such as escalators, lifts, flooring, lighting, air conditioning and several other amenities, he added. — Bernama
