(The Edge Financial Daily) IJM Corp bags RM450.9m job to build UOB Tower 2


KUALA LUMPUR: IJM Corp Bhd has bagged a RM450.9 million contract from UOB Properties (KL) Bhd to build a new corporate office tower in Jalan Raja Laut here.

In a statement yesterday, IJM Corp said the project was awarded to its wholly-owned subsidiary IJM Construction Sdn Bhd.

IJM Corp managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Soam Heng Choon said that IJM’s outstanding construction order book stands at RM9 billion with this project.

IJM Corp said the 29-storey and 193.5m-tall UOB Tower 2 will be located adjacent to the existing UOB Malaysia headquarters here.

Both buildings will be connected by an elevated plaza. The new building will include a range of facilities, including two levels of podium for retail banking, one level of lower ground floor, five levels of basement car parks and 27 levels of office space, including a green lounge reception and a sky lounge.

Construction of the building will commence in August and is expected to be completed 40 months from the commencement date.
