(NST) PM: MRT, a holistic network connecting places of worship, schools, healthcare centres

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT line will be a holistic network once its full operational, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who took time today to try out the service which will start on Monday.

The line will connect 22 places of worship, 19 schools and healthcare centres according to a poster posted in his Facebook and Twitter accounts.

“A holistic network. Sekolah Menengah Bandar Utama, Kuala Lumpur Baptist Church, Kajang Specialist Hospital and more schools, places of worship and healthcare centres will be accessible through the MRT Malaysia #JomNaikMRT,” he posted.

A video clip during his visit with wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor was also posted on his social media accounts.

Najib and Rosmah were also joined by his friends from social media.

Phase One of the MRT, which connects Sungai Buloh to Semantan, started its operation in December 16, last year.

Phase Two will see another 19 new stations connecting Semantan to Kajang.

This will include a 9.5km underground route with stops at Muzium Negara (KL Sentral), Pasar Seni, Plaza Merdeka, Bukit Bintang, Tun Razak Exchange, Jalan Cochrane and Taman Maluri.
