(The Star) Two plots identified for affordable homes in Johor

SEGAMAT: The state government has identified two plots of land here to build houses under the Johor Affordable Homes Scheme (RMMJ).

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the land, measuring 4ha each, is in Paya Lebar and Taman Suria, Buloh Kasap.

“The state government will spend RM3.5mil to acquire the land and we will ask Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor (KPRJ) to do a study on the requirements for the construction of RMMJ,” he said after visiting the Segamat parliamentary constituency here.

Mohamed Khaled also announced an allocation of RM29mil for the parliamentary area to upgrade roads.

He said from the total, RM7.3mil would be for the upgrading of village roads, RM6.3mil for local council roads while over RM7.5mil would be for district roads.

During his one-day visit to the parliamentary constituency, he also launched the Community In River 2017 programme at Sungai Kapeh to create awareness on keeping rivers in Johor clean.

Mohamed Khaled said many rivers in Johor were contaminated.
