(The Star) Companies sign MoU to build pedestrian bridge to connect mall and CIQ complex

JOHOR BARU: A pedestrian bridge linking R&F Princess Cove and the Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex here would be partially completed by the end of the year.
R&F Properties Co. Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a construction corporation on the development of a pedestrian bridge in a ceremony recently.
The MoU, signed with China Construction Third Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd, will see the construction of a pedestrian bridge between the R&F Princess Cove commercial Mall and the Sultan Iskandar CIQ.
The corporation also signed a MoU with Hyatt Hotels Corporation and several of their commercial tenants.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation had agreed to this strategic cooperation in its maiden overseas project R&F Princess Cove located in Johor Baru here.
R&F Properties vice general manager Hu Gangzhi said that a coastal promenade district and phase one of the shopping mall would commence operations and be open to the public during the first quarter of 2018.
He added that the phase one commercial mall would feature anchor tenants such as MBO Cinemas, Voir Group, YFS, A-LOOK eyewear, SM+CY and Restaurant Todak.
“This project would benefit both Singapore and Malaysia once the pedestrian bridge and shopping mall are completed,” he said during the signing of the MoU at the R&F Princess Cove Johor Baru Sales Gallery.
Johor Baru mayor A.Rahim Nin and state secretary Azmi Rohani were also present to witness the signing of the MoUs.
Malaysia’s R&F Princess Cove project is the first overseas foreign investment of R&F Properties Group, over a total land area of 44.5ha, with a gross building area of 36 million square feet.

The project, with phase one partially completed by the end of this year, would consist of residential development, commercial premises, a coastal promenade, a philharmonic auditorium, a hotel, and office towers.
